Angela worked for over 20 years in a financial organisation, mainly as project manager. Before that, she had a successful career in teaching, culminating in Head of Department at a secondary school. Since retiring, she has taught at universities in both China and Italy and has volunteered locally and aboard. She is keen to help make a positive impact on the lives of older people in Brighton & Hove and help make the city truly older people friendly.

Bernadette Kent is an active community figure in Brighton, playing a strategic role in representing older residents through her work as Joint Secretary of the OPC.
She is a key older persons advocate with participation in key council discussions and
demonstrations related to council many campaigns, including, action outside Hove Town Hall
during the budget meeting 2025

I have a background working in and managing adult social care services, but I have never learned so much as I have as an older person myself with mobility issues, and as a carer for family members needing services! Unconscious, and sometimes overt, ageism remains rife , even amongst policy makers. I am determined to see it reduced through the work, and raising voices of, older people, hence happy to be joint secretary for the OPC.

Michael Creedy is a community activist based in Brighton. He is involved in various environmental and housing projects and has been an outreach officer for the Brighton Peace & Environment Centre. Michael is also a key contact for the Brighton and Hove Older People's Council, where he works to ensure that older people are recognized for their valuable contributions and have fair access to services and opportunities
